O'Brien Obides by Bounds

Former short-lived Tonight Show host Conan O'Brien will be back on TV, hosting a new late-night talk show on TBS. It's been announced that Mr. O'Brien has inked an eight-figure deal with the cable network, and he'll be returning to the airwaves this fall.
Notably, the timing of the new program's debut will put it just beyond violating the terms of his departure contract with NBC, a contract that forbid Mr. O'Brien from doing any other television shows for a certain period of months. That "no-compete" clause will expire shortly before the November launch date of the new show.
Meanwhile, still towing the line of the contract requirement that he do no TV, Mr. O'Brien has launched a tour of live stage shows featuring him. So long as he doesn't put it on TV, he's within the letter of the agreement.
